Alexandra Workwear continues to shine bright by sponsoring the Cavell Star Awards

3 August 2020

The UK’s leading workwear company, Alexandra, has announced a major sponsorship deal to help support and honour nurses and midwives throughout the UK.

For the third year running, the Bristol-based company has become a sponsor of the national Cavell Star Awards organised by the Cavell Nurses’ Trust charity. The awards recognise nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants that provide exceptional care to their colleagues, to patients and their families.

Alexandra has also agreed to design and donate 700 T-shirts for Cavell Nurses’ Trust’s ‘10K For Nurses and Midwives’ fundraising campaign. This will see hundreds of participants raising money for the charity throughout October.

Cavell Nurses’ Trust supports both working and retired UK nurses, midwives and healthcare assistants when they experience any form of personal or financial hardship as a result of illness, disability, old age and domestic abuse. The charity is also currently supporting individuals through the Covid-19 crisis.

Becky Jones, Global Sales and Commercial Director at Alexandra Workwear, said: “We supply uniform, scrub sets and PPE to nurses and midwives across the country and are a long-time admirer of the amazing work of Cavell Nurses’ Trust.

“This will be the third year in a row that we have sponsored the Star Awards. It is a brilliant and moving awards programme and we are thrilled to be able to renew our support in this, the Year of the Nurse and Midwife.

“In this unprecedented year we have also become the clothing sponsor for the charity’s 10K For Nurses and Midwives fundraising campaign. Both the awards and the fundraiser help bring healthcare teams together, praise the hard-working individuals that deserve to be recognised and raise money to help make a difference to the lives of those that need it.”

10k For Nurses & Midwives takes place throughout October and will see hundreds of fundraisers pledging to raise vital money by taking on a 10k challenge or tackling a Mount Snowdon challenge.

John Orchard, Chief Executive at Cavell Nurses’ Trust, said: “Alexandra has been a sponsor of the Cavell Star Awards since its launch in 2018 and Cavell Nurses’ Trust is very proud to be working with such a well-recognised workwear provider to nursing and midwifery professionals.

“Alexandra is also helping us to celebrate the Year of The Nurse and Midwife – shining a light on the amazing work our nurses and midwives do, whilst also raising funds for Cavell Nurses’ Trust to help nurses and midwives overcome personal crisis. We would like to thank Alexandra Workwear for their continued support.”
